I always ask about color preference; some folks are firm and others are more flexible. Corgis come in red, sable, fawn, black and tan, with or without white markings. A good description and photos are available on the PWCCA web site. George is red & white; both Ginger and Paula are sable & white but all three have red & white dogs in their pedigrees. So I usually have a mixture of the two in each litter. Puppies are born grey (see earlier pix of the current litters) and gradually turn to their adult color. By 8 weeks I have a pretty good idea of their permanent color, however they will often continue to darken a bit as they grow older until about a year old. This is not a drastic change, but they will often darken some. The photos above show the change my current litters have made just since the first photos I took a week ago. You can see in the top photo - this is Pete, one of Ginger's darkest pups who I think will be a vibrant sable & white, then the next photo is of one of Paula's pups, Doc who I think will probably be red & white, then the photo at bottom is of (l to r) George, Paula, Butter, Ginger showing the variation in their coloring. Note: Butter is George and Ginger's daughter.
