Jason is awaiting his travel day to his new home on the 2nd - in the meantime he is doing very well - potty training is coming along nicely now that he is allowed to roam the house.
For easy potty training we set up a 2x4 play pen near the fireplace - it sits on a 4x5 plastic tarp with several layers of paper on top. Inside are his bed and food/water - we leave the door open during the day and he is very good about coming and going from the pen as he wants. He reports back to the paper outside his pen to potty etc. At night we shut the door and he is quiet and happy to sleep on his bed and play with toys till we are up in the morning.
This has proven to be a good way to give a young puppy a "safe" place to sleep and eat away from the other older dogs and the papers are a great way to offer an "okay" place to go when he's not all the way outside.
