This Was a Big Week

Well this was a big week for the babies. We started out last Friday with weight checks and worming. Ginger's litter was 6 weeks old on Tuesday and weighed between 4.5 and 4.75 lbs each. Paula's litter turned 5 weeks on Monday and weighed between 3.5 and 4.25 lbs. All the puppies are doing great and growing quickly. You could sure see the week's worth of age difference this week as the older one's ears have all popped up and the younger one's ears are still flopped over like little babies.

They are at the age when lots of things happen at once - the mamma dogs are tapering off on nursing and are down to one time per day - correspondingly the babies are eating more dry puppy food and more Bil-Jac. I do not give them free choice food at this point as I've found the aggressive eaters will over consume. So they are getting three small meals + nursing in the evenings.
It was warm enough early in the week to go outside and that was BIG FUN. We set up the big playpen in the grass and let the corgis and bulldog puppies play together.
